Sophie Taylor
Currently, I am a final year medical student with Keele University. All being well, next year when I am 23, I will graduate and go on to be a doctor in the NHS. I am hoping to continue my training and become a paediatrician. I have already achieved many things such as running national paediatric conferences, having blogs published by the Royal College of Paediatrics and getting a case report published in Midlands Medicine. I am very excited about what the future holds, having wanted to be a Dr from when I was 6 years old.
I have done many exciting things since I left sixth form, including, visiting Africa with a charitable organisation, where we climbed Kilimanjaro. I did some hospital volunteering around Vietnam where I got to deliver a baby! I have also had an active roll in leading university societies and teaching other medical students. I have been employed by NCS as a team leader, by the NHS as a part time as a medical assistant where I take bloods from patients. I will also be working as a COVID-19 vaccinator this Summer.
Outside of my academic and clinical studies I enjoy singing, baking, photography and running. I also have a fabulous bunch of friends and a boyfriend who I enjoy travelling with.
Swanwick Hall Sixth form allowed me to get the A-levels results I needed to study medicine, with fantastic support from all my tutors. I am also still in contact with many of my friends from Sixth Form and see them as much as I am able.
If you work hard and enjoy what you do then the sky is your limit. Swanwick Hall Sixth form is a great place to start.
