Business Studies Summary

The is equivalent to an A Level qualification and will equip you with sound specialist knowledge and skills for everyday use. Whether you want to work in finance, marketing, HR, operations or even start your own company, Business Studies will give you a grounding in all of the fundamental functions of a firm. You will understand what really makes a business tick, what qualities the best leaders and managers have and how they bring them to bear to ensure their success. 

This will help you to develop independence and confidence in using skills that would be relevant to the Business and Enterprise sector. The qualification contains practical activities that build on theoretical knowledge so that you can put your learning into practice while also developing valuable transferable skills such as: Verbal Communication/Presentation, Research, Analytical Skills, Digital Presentation. 

This course allows you to develop employability skills that will help you to adapt to the ever-changing roles needed to survive in the global economy.

Standard Swanwick Hall Sixth Form entry criteria. You do not need to have studied Business before.

How you will study

Traditional class teaching is supplemented by problem solving simulation and case studies using the theories covered in the course to analyse real world businesses, from local sole traders right up to international conglomerates. It is important that students get to see the application of the theories they learn in action.
