Diploma for Entry to the Uniformed Services Level 3 Summary
The Level 3 Diploma aims to create informed and prepared potential uniformed services recruits. It will enable learners to prepare to make a recruitment application or provide a basis for further study. Students will gain an insight into the practical qualities they require for the Royal Navy, RAF, British Army, Fire & Rescue Service, Police and Prison Service. They will develop key skills including leadership of projects, problem solving, written and verbal communication skills and independent learning; together with an appreciation of appropriate standards of behaviour, dress and interpersonal skills, manners and deportment. There will be the opportunity to understand and develop the qualities needed to work in the military or civilian services and learn how different roles and departments function. The programme develops a general understanding of the uniformed service sector and provides an opportunity to investigate a broad range of career opportunities, providing support in preparing for a recruitment interview and an understanding of coaching skills, conflict management, personal protection, navigation and adventurous training.
